Warranty

LIMITED PRODUCT WARRANTY:

These warranty terms apply to equipment sold in South Africa and other African markets by Fired Up Kilns Africa or its authorised resellers or distributors. Read them alongside the Terms & Conditions document.

Fired Up Kilns Africa refers, where applicable, to the Fired Up Kilns Africa group and the relevant group company, authorised reseller or distributor that supplied the equipment to the original purchaser. This warranty is provided only to that original purchaser.

All Fired Up Kilns Africa products are intended for indoor use in a static position. Failure to use them in this manner, for their intended purpose, or in accordance with the technical specifications and installation and operating instructions will void this warranty.

The warranty period:

Starts on the date of dispatch from Fired Up Kilns Africa or its authorised resellers or distributors.

• Is twelve (12) months for manufacturing defects.
• Is three (3) months for repairs and maintenance related work.
• Parts not made by us will be covered by a separate manufacturers guarantee.
• Some manufacturers have additional extended warranty periods on their products.

Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable consumer protection laws in the country of sale. This applies to all warranty conditions, exclusions and limitations below.

You may be required to provide proof of purchase to receive warranty service.

LIMITED EQUIPMENT AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS WARRANTY

Fired Up Kilns Africa warrants that the equipment (including electronic equipment) will meet the functional specifications published at original delivery for twelve (12) months from that date, if properly installed and operated as designed and in accordance with instructions.

For a valid warranty claim, Fired Up Kilns Africa will, at its own expense and sole discretion, repair, replace or refund all or part of the equipment. Repairs or replacements will be provided at its offices or another location it selects. Replacement equipment need not be new or of the identical model; a suitable alternative may be supplied.

Alterations, modifications or repairs without prior approval from Fired Up Kilns Africa will void this warranty. Installation must meet its specifications and be performed by an electrician or other suitably qualified person, pre-approved by Fired Up Kilns Africa, with any licence or registration required locally for that work. Non-compliant installation will void this warranty.

This warranty is subject to mandatory local laws in the country where the equipment was sold by Fired Up Kilns Africa or its authorised resellers or distributors.

WHAT TO DO FOR A WARRANTY CLAIM

Submit any claim under this warranty in writing to the supplier before the warranty period ends, with a detailed description and images of the defect, the date of purchase and the serial number (if applicable). Contact the supplier for the claim form and submission instructions.

Defective equipment must be sent to the Fired Up Kilns Africa offices and packaged to avoid further damage in transit. Reasonable transport costs may be reimbursed if the claim is substantiated, agreed procedures are followed and Fired Up Kilns Africa authorises the return in advance.

Fired Up Kilns Africa may reject any warranty claim where it believes that the equipment has been damaged or further damaged in transit.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED

The warranty provided by Fired Up Kilns Africa does not cover:

1. equipment (and electronic components) that have been subjected to:
1. abuse,
2. accident,
3. alterations, modifications or tampering,
4. negligence,
5. misuse,
6. faulty installation,
7. lack of reasonable care,
8. freight or transport-related damage,
9. tilting, dragging, moving by the lid or manhandling,
10. improper storage or location,
11. repair or service without prior approval or contrary to instructions.
2. equipment whose model or serial number has been altered, tampered with, defaced, removed or damaged;
3. failure due to a power surge or force majeure; and
4. kiln damage from overfiring as a result of unmonitored operation (misuse).

Elements, thermocouples and contactors are not covered by this warranty, as they are consumables affected by how the equipment is used.

Cosmetic damage and normal wear and tear (including hairline cracks, browning of bricks and shrinkage of inner bricks) that do not affect function are not covered by this warranty.

Damage to kilns from reduction firing, salt firing or firing products not commercially designed for firing in an electric kiln is not covered by this warranty.

Damage or wear from excessive or trapped corrosive gases or vapours is not covered by this warranty. This relates to the items fired and the adequacy of ventilation and airflow for the volume of gases produced. Owners must adjust their firing methods, improve ventilation and maintain their kilns to prevent corrosion.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the extent permitted by law, the aggregate liability of Fired Up Kilns Africa is limited to the purchase price of the product in question.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fired Up Kilns Africa is not liable for any loss, costs, damages, liabilities or consequential loss suffered by the customer or third parties because of the equipment, including loss of goodwill, work stoppages, equipment damage, computer failure or malfunction, or loss of information.

INDEMNITY

To the extent permitted by law, the customer shall indemnify and keep indemnified Fired Up Kilns Africa and its directors, employees, contractors and related parties, and hold them harmless against all actions, suits, causes of action, claims, demands, costs, charges and expenses arising from the use, operation, safety features or procedures for use of equipment purchased from Fired Up Kilns Africa.

GOVERNING LAW

This warranty is governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. This choice of law does not exclude or limit mandatory consumer rights or protections under the laws of any other country of sale.

Effective from: 1st August 2026. This online published warranty supersede all other and earlier versions.
