Description
Fired to 1200C.
This compound is used mainly as a colourant to produce browns, blacks (with cobalt and nickel), and purple in alkaline glazes. When used in amounts exceeding 5 % it generally blisters the glaze. It is not generally wise to substitute for any of the manganese compounds.
This compound can be toxic if used in large amounts.
